Starting The Year With A BANG!
I like to start each year by
writing a letter to my students
and posting it just above the
pencil sharpener in my
classroom. I read the letter to
the students on the first day and
remind them of it throughout
the school year.
Dear Students,

I'm writing you this letter to let you
know that I am here for you. I will try
to make this school year the best one
you've ever had.

When you have questions and
problems, please come to me. I promise
to listen patiently and seriously
consider what you say.

I promise to respect your thoughts,
your words, and your opinions. In
return, I ask that you respect mine.

As we work together, let's do our best
to help each other in every way
possible.
Teachers SO appreciate parents
who take the time to attend
Open House.
But teachers are often incredibly
overwhelmed with parents who try to
monopolize the visit sharing their
child's history and special needs.
Start the year
right! Remind
your kids that
Teachers don't GIVE grades . . .
students EARN them.
Cooperate with one another . . . Compete only with yourself!
